This kit comprises of a 500mm grounding rod bolted to a 3m cable. These kits are for non electrical grounding of external conductive surfaces like corrugated iron roofing or cladding, verandas, sheds, or other suitable areas.
 
Cable is 16AWG (1.29mm)
 
These are made to order and the cable can be any suitable length.
 
Why do we ground these surfaces? In many instances, these conductive surfaces carry electric fields from wiring or appliances. These fields can extend across living and sleeping areas.  Grounding them removes all electric fields and with that, any dirty electric fields also.
 
These grounding rods are not designed to ground electrical systems.
